Mishka Vertin, Shoe Size 9
Program Director, NYC

Mishka Vertin joined Back on My Feet as Program Director of the NYC chapter in March of 2012. Having spent the previous four years working with men and women involved in the criminal justice system, Mishka brought together at Back on My Feet her passions for social work and running.

While Mishka has formed a strong community within her local running group, North Brooklyn Runners, her most powerful running experiences came while completing the New York City marathon with men overcoming addiction.

"There is no better race than the one you run with someone else's goals in mind."

She hopes to share her love of running as both a source of personal achievement and a gateway to community-building with the members of Back on My Feet NYC.

Mishka received her undergraduate degree in Peace & Justice Studies and Journalism from the University of St. Thomas and her Masters in Social Work from Columbia University.
