Become a BoMF Core Member
Updated: January 23, 2012
Want to take your BoMF experience further? Become a Core Member!
Interested in taking a leadership role with BoMF? Become a core member! Our teams are organized with Residential (shelter residents) and Non-Resident (volunteer) Members. We rely on our Non-Residential Members to help BoMF staff create an amazing environment at each team in the mornings. Therefore, we ask for your help with certain daily responsibilities.
You don't have to have a core role to run with a team, but we are looking for a few of you looking to help us out. Each role makes a difference and helps members move their lives forward. The roles have different levels of time commitment, from 1-2 mornings per week, to 3 mornings per week. Each role is also a 6 month time-frame as to ensure we establish stable relationships and build amazing friendships.
What are the roles?
• Team Leader: The energizer bunny of the group, you know them, that person who somehow doesn’t need coffee because they seem to be made of it! They get everyone engaged and fired up! Is this you? This is a commitment of 3 days a week.
• Team Organizer: The spreadsheet addict, the person who plans out their vacation in excel… That’s a Team Organizer; they track mileage and attendance for the resident members. This is a commitment of 3 days a week.
• Team Coach: Are you someone who seems to always be getting ready for another marathon, triathlon or thinks core exercises are actually fun? We’re looking for some excited and knowledgeable folks to plan routes each week, lead the team-warm up and be able to manage a structured approach to building mileage the BoMF way. This is a commitment of 1-2 days a week
• Volunteer Coordinator: The ring-leader, the social butterfly. We’re looking for a person on each team to help organize volunteer involvement and assist the Program Director with volunteer retention. This is a commitment of 2-3 days a week.
• Social Coordinator: Need we say more? The friend who finds excuses to bake cupcakes each week, the one who hand-makes thank you cards. We’re looking for social coordinators to help in organizing the team social event each month and recognizing team birthdays and important dates. This is a commitment of 1-2 days a week.
